“I’M SO STUPID,” a wail disrupts the special education classroom I’m visiting. It’s been relatively calm the last half hour, and I look over, surprised at the sudden outburst. The student in question has major behavioral issues, and has been in and out of the classroom all morning. He’s thrown temper tantrums reminiscent of aContinue reading “Tales from a Special Ed Classroom”

Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
I’m back! The last six months have been insanely busy for me between getting married, finishing Sophomore Year, helping Mitch move, and apartment flood, etc. Despite the craziness, it was a good semester and I learned a lot. So now I’m back and I have a ton of planned blogposts sharing some of the thingsContinue reading “Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing”

In case you’ve missed some of those, October is Down Syndrome Awareness month and IContinue reading “Down Syndrome Awareness Month”
Achieve Camp

Over the course of the four-day camp, we took them through a ropes course, rock climbing, zip-lining, rafting, horse-back-riding, and swimming! We played games, made some crafts, and created lifetime memories. ThisContinue reading “Achieve Camp”
